A Brooklyn man was stabbed to death by his ex-girlfriend's new beau as he was visiting her apartment late Saturday night, according to New York City police.

Police were responding to an emergency call of a stabbing inside an apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant when they discovered the 40-year-old victim with a stab wound to his torso, according to a police report.

Police said the victim apparently had been paying a visit to his ex-girlfriend's apartment when an argument broke out between him and the girl's new boyfriend, Pedro Marquez, 46 of 22 Stone Ave. in Brooklyn.

The victim, identified by police as Michael Lebron of 44 Aberdeen St. in Brooklyn, was stabbed multiple times, according to a police spokesman, and was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Marquez was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He has previous arrests for narcotics-related offenses, according to a police spokesman
