SAN ANTONIO- A woman was shot and killed around 2:30 Sunday morning. Police said her daughter's boyfriend was responsible. 40-year-old Niki Hill was pronounced dead at her Northeast side home located on the 5700 block of Woodgreen near Rittiman Road. It’s where she was shot.
Niki Hill lived in the home with her husband and children. It's also the place where her family said the suspect broke into the house, forced his way in, and shot Niki dead.
Her husband Timothy Hill explained that he was asleep when he heard his wife call out to him.
She called him twice and he met her in their hallway. He didn't have a chance to talk to her and instead he just grabbed her.
“She just collapsed; I was like, what's going on? When I laid her down I could see blood just coming out like water,” said Timothy Hill, the victim’s husband.
According to police, Niki was shot in the chest by 24-year-old Gary Armstrong.
He was the boyfriend of the woman's 18-year-old daughter.
But things didn't end there. Timothy said the gunman then kidnapped his daughter at gunpoint and held her against her will at Armstrong’s apartment. The young woman managed to escape unharmed when Armstrong fell asleep. She returned with police and by 8:30 Sunday morning Armstrong surrendered peacefully to police.
According to family members the young woman was breaking it off with Armstrong and that is apparently what set him off.
