MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee woman is due back in court next Tuesday for allegedly shooting her estranged husband to death.
31-year-old Marissa Flores is being held under a $100,000 bond on a charge of first-degree reckless homicide.
33-year-old Savonte Cooper was killed July 30th in the apartment they shared for 5 years until Cooper moved out in February.
Prosecutors said the two argued about what to eat for dinner, and the way Cooper knocked over a pedestal fan. Authorities said he threatened to break a window and beat Flores before she grabbed a gun next to her bed and shot him. She claimed she was only trying to scare him.
Officials said Cooper gave the gun to Flores so she could protect herself after a burglary in her apartment.
At her next court appearance, a judge will decide if there’s enough evidence to put Flores on trial.
