HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. -- A mother was shot dead and daughter wounded Sunday night in Clackamas County by a gunman who remained at large Monday morning.
Anyone who sees the suspect, Jason Duane Hogan Jr., considered armed and dangerous, should call 911, said Sgt. Adam Phillips. Police warned that Hogan can be very unpredictable and should not be approached.
Norma Jean Perrone, 62, died. Gina Marie Perrone, 29, survived the gunfire, Phillips said. Hogan was Gina's boyfriend and lived with her at the home where the shooting occurred, according to investigators.
Gina called 911 for help just before 11 p.m. She told dispatchers Hogan had shot her and her mother in their home on SE Hobart Court. Moments later, dispatchers got calls from neighbors about hearing gunfire.
Both women to taken to the hospital but Norma did not survive.
The suspect sped off sometime during the night, in a car police said he stole from an acquaintance.
Hogan has an extensive criminal record and should not be approached, police said. He has been involved with assaults, a kidnap, a SWAT incident and has been shot, Phillips said.
He likely will fear no one and will be violent in any confrontation, Phillips said.
Police want help in locating two vehicles, the first a silver 2002 VW Golf 924DQG and a dark blue Hyundai Electra 161DMT. The Hyundai has damage to the hood.
Anyone with information was asked to call the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office's confidential Tip Line at 503-723-4949.
