GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A Greenville man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after he admitted killing his girlfriend.
Willie James Poole, 33, pleaded guilty Tuesday to voluntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend, 31-year-old Talibah Allen.
Allen was reported missing in January 2009. Her body was found two days later by some dirt-bike riders near Lakeside Road and Staunton Bridge Road in an area off White Horse Road. Allen had been shot in the chest four times.
Immediately after his arrest Poole had claimed to be innocent and told News 4 that he “loved her dearly.”
Allen’s daughter was 4 at the time of her mother’s death. Prosecutors said Poole had a history of violence against Allen.
