A Fruit Cove man is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of his girlfriend, according to a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies arrested Terrell Lee Jordan II, 32, Tuesday after they found his girlfriend Kristi Lynn Dennis, 30, unconscious in her home at 1439 N. Fruit Cove Road around 12:15 a.m., the report said. St. Johns County Fire Rescue personnel tried to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said the death was suspicious.
Jordan and Dennis were listed as living at the same address. Neighbors could not be reached for comment.
Photos of the couple were in albums on what appeared to be Jordan’s Facebook page, listed under “Terry Jordan.”
They appear to have been a happy couple, shown by the comments and photos that were posted less than a few months ago.
In one photo, the couple sat smiling next to each other. Underneath the picture, a comment from Dennis: “me and my baby!” she wrote on Dec. 17. There are several pictures of Kristi Dennis, smiling.
In one picture posted in October, she sits on a porch swing on a dock. “i’M LOOKING AT YOU BABY!” Jordan commented.
Jordan graduated from Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville in 1998 and worked at Sonny’s Bar-B-Q, according to his Facebook page. Dennis’ Facebook page said she was self employed and went to Englewood High School in Jacksonville. She was from Columbia, S.C. and liked cooking, dancing and going to the beach, the page read. Today would have been her 31st birthday.
Jordan is in the St. Johns County jail without bond.
The District Medical Examiner was scheduled to complete an autopsy Tuesday to determine the case of Dennis death, the report said. The investigation is ongoing.
