A woman is in custody for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death during an argument Wednesday in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.
Lynn Crenshaw, 42, of the 8300 block of South Maryland Avenue, was charged Thursday with one count of first degree murder after she allegedly killed her boyfriend Brian Hawkins Wednesday during a domestic altercation, police said.
Police said Crenshaw stabbed Hawkins, also 42, of the 2500 block of East 77th Street, in the abdomen while they argued in an apartment in the 600 block of West Patterson Avenue about 10:15 p.m.
Hawkins was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 11 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
An autopsy on Thursday showed Hawkins died from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen. His death was ruled a homicide.
Crenshaw is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
