Police in Thibodaux say a man fired gunshots at a car where his ex-girlfriend was sitting with a friend in a store parking lot, then killed himself after leading police on a chase that ended with a car crash.
It all began around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
According to the police account, the man confronted the woman and a man as they sat in a car in a Walmart parking lot.
One of the bullets fired grazed the man's shin.
The gunman drove away but was later spotted by police, who chased him until his car crashed into a ditch.
The man then pulled a gun and shot himself in the head.
He was identified as 23-year-old Brody Williams of Thibodaux.
