Fond du Lac, WI: Fond du Lac woman murdered; husband arrested in Alabama

FOND DU LAC - Police have arrested a 35-
year-old Fond du Lac man accused of
shooting his wife in the head.

The search for Jason E. Anderson began
after police found his wife, Nicole L.
Anderson, 33, dead of a single gunshot
wound about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the
couple’s home at 312 Winnebago Drive.

He was arrested in Birmingham, Ala., said
Fond du Lac Police Department Capt. Steve
Klein. Detectives were booking a flight to
interview him, Klein said Wednesday
afternoon.

Jason Anderson was tracked to Alabama
when he used his credit card at 6:41 p.m.
Tuesday in Birmingham, according to the
criminal complaint obtained by The
Reporter of Fond du Lac. Birmingham is
where Anderson’s mother, Barbara
Williams, resides.

At 5:28 p.m. Tuesday, Grove Cannon,
father of Nicole Anderson, told police that
his daughter was not responding to phone
calls and had not been heard from for two
days. Cannon was at the home of his
daughter when he called police, according
to the complaint.

Police found Nicole Anderson in the master
bedroom on the second floor of the home
with a gunshot wound to the left temple. An
empty handgun holster and spent handgun
shell casing were found on the floor next to
the bed. A live handgun bullet was found in
the closet, according to the complaint.

Cannon told Detective Steve Kaufman that
the Andersons were married for at least
eight years and that he was not aware of
any marital problems or history of violence.

Klein told The Reporter that a gun was not
found in the home.

Cannon told a detective that he attempted
to call Nicole Anderson on Saturday after
he forgot to call her on her birthday the
day prior.

Lynn Schubert, Nicole’s ex-husband and
the father of her 11-year-old daughter,
reported that Nicole Anderson did not
show up to pick up the girl for a scheduled
dentist appointment, according to the
complaint.
