FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. --
Fayetteville police are investigating what they say was a domestic-related kidnapping and murder-suicide.
Officers say a 911 call was received at 8:11 a.m Thursday morning, reporting that a woman had been kidnapped from a Fayetteville area home where she was staying.
Police say the suspect was the estranged boyfriend or husband. Officers said the victim had a restraining order on the suspect.
Shortly before 10 a.m, an officer found the suspect vehicle parked at the end of Woodstream Trail, which is in the apartment complex the suspect lived in.
Police say the suspect opened fire--forcing the officer to take cover.
Investigators say the suspect then shot and killed the woman, and then killed himself.
The exact relation of the two has not been released.
The suspect is identified as 30 year old Warren Cummings III. The victim's name hasn't yet been released.
Officials say the victim was in the military, stationed at Ft. Bragg.
