Okeechobee, FL: Ex-Husband of Missing Teacher Arrested in Florida
The ex-husband of a missing Huntsville native was arrested early Monday morning outside a hotel in Okeechobee, Florida. Daniel Proctor, 44, is being questioned about the disappearance of Amy Patterson.
The 41 year old Patterson was a 1988 graduate of Grissom High School and a science teacher at Mariner Middle School in Cape Coral, Florida. She hasn't been seen since mid to late July.
Proctor reportedly told different stories to different people to explain where Patterson was. Investigators believe she is likely dead, and Proctor is a suspect.
Madison County investigators say Proctor was recently in Huntsville where he allegedly stole a friend's 1997 Ford Explorer and a gun.
Patterson and Proctor were divorced in 1994. They got back together a couple years ago.
