YORK—
— A Newport News man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend earlier this year was arraigned Thursday in York-Poquoson Circuit Court.

MacCoy Shien Johnson, 43, faces two felony charges — first-degree murder and grand larceny — in connection with the June 9 death of his former girlfriend, Felice Hickey. The York-Poquoson Circuit Court grand jury indicted him on the charges on Tuesday.

York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office officials said Hickey, a 39-year-old York County resident, was found stabbed in her apartment on Arcadia Loop in the Clairmont complex off of George Washington Memorial Highway back in June.

Officials have released few details about the incident. The Virginia Gazette, however, reported that testimony during a Sept. 14 hearing in York-Poquoson Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court revealed that Hickey's teenage son found her on her bedroom floor suffering from two stab wounds to the chest. He then called police.

Johnson is currently being held in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond.
