A Golden Valley man slashed the throat of a Mankato college student after she told him she was seeing someone else, according to a murder charge filed Tuesday.
Damone Christopher Williams-Tillman, 19, was charged with second-degree murder and appeared in Blue Earth County District Court in Mankato. He was ordered held in lieu of $400,000 bail.
Williams-Tillman is accused of killing 19-year-old Josselyn Marie Bishop of Henderson, Minn. Her body was found Friday by a truck driver in an industrial area of Mankato.
According to the criminal complaint:
Williams-Tillman told police that he picked up Bishop, and that they quarreled while driving around. He said Bishop told him that she was seeing someone else.
He said he blacked out but remembered having a knife. He said he last saw Bishop lying in the grass, bleeding. He said he threw a knife and a cellphone out of the car while driving over a bridge.
Police were unable to identify Bishop until co-workers at a Mankato McDonald's restaurant reported Friday night that she had not shown up for work.
Williams-Tillman was located at his father's home Golden Valley, interviewed early Saturday by investigators and arrested.
