LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lexington police have arrested the husband of a woman who was beaten to death last year and charged him with murder.
Police are not saying whom 48-year-old Donald Southworth is accused of killing, but on Wednesday night Lexington Police called a press conference about an arrest in the death of his wife, Umi Southworth.
That news conference was later cancelled after a judge sealed documents in the case.
Southworth was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center just before 1 a.m. Thursday, according to WLEX-TV.
Police found 42-year-old Umi Southworth behind her home June 9, 2010, and thought she was dead. It was nearly five hours before they realized she was alive and took her to a hospital, where she died the next day.
Police have since changed their policies.
