Tulsa, OK: Ark. man charged in stabbing death

An Arkansas man has been arrested in connection with an apparent stabbing death early Saturday morning in the 1300 block of South 122nd East Avenue.
Sammy Leon Hall, 24, was found in a bedroom without a pulse and was transported to St. John Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m., Tulsa Police Cpl. Scott Anderson said.
The suspect, Rosendo Gutierrez, 31, of De Queen, Ark., was at the scene, covered in blood with cuts to his wrist when police arrived, Anderson said.
Further investigation revealed the two were in a romantic relationship and were living together with Gutierrez's parents in Tulsa, according to his arrest report.
A neighbor told police that Hall and Gutierrez were physically fighting in the front yard before the stabbing occurred, the report stated. Gutierrez's father heard him make threats to the victim.
Gutierrez allegedly told police that he cut himself while stabbing the victim and was not suicidal, according to the report.
He was transported to the Oklahoma State University Medical Center where he was treated and questioned by detectives.
He was booked at the Tulsa Jail at 7:41 a.m. on a first-degree murder complaint.
