Last update: March 12, 2011 - 11:20 PM

A North Miami Beach, Fla., man was arrested
at the Hastings library Saturday afternoon,
more than two years after he allegedly
stabbed his girlfriend to death, the FBI
announced.

Abraham Mpaka, 46, was caught at 4:30 p.m.
by the FBI's Fugitive Task Force and arrested
without incident. Mpaka was wanted since
the Dec. 26, 2008, death of his girlfriend,
Coty Paul. Authorities accuse Mpaka of
stabbing Paul, the mother of his children, in
the heart as she was watching television in
her neighbor's apartment.

Mpaka, a native of Nigeria, was featured on
the television show "America's Most Wanted"
three times since Paul's death. He has
claimed in the past to be a doctor, an FBI
agent and a student at the Universite de Paris,
the FBI said.

Mpaka was arrested after the Task Force
followed up on investigative leads. He
remains at the Dakota County Jail in Hastings
while awaiting extradition to Florida.

The FBI's Fugitive Task Force is comprised of
investigators from the Minneapolis Police
Department, the Hennepin County Sheriff's
Office, and the FBI.
