An Incline Village woman accused of fatally stabbing her elderly husband in October 2009 has pleaded guilty to a felony count of voluntary manslaughter with the use of a deadly weapon.
The Tahoe Daily Tribune on Friday reported that 74-year-old Mary Baymiller awaits sentencing May 20 in Washoe County District Court after entering the plea on Jan. 28.
She was originally charged with open murder after being accused of stabbing her 73-year-old husband, Charles Baymiller, from 160 to 200 times with various kitchen knives at their home.
Court documents allege Mary Baymiller may have been in mental anguish over her husband's onset of dementia and worries about money.
Voluntary manslaughter carries a minimum of one to 10 years in prison.
She was released from jail after posting $10,000 bail.
