OCEANSIDE (CBS8) - It's the first murder for the new year, according to Oceanside Police.
"It came out as a medical aide," said Oceanside Police Lt. Leonard Mata. "When the fire department arrived and found they had a shooting victim they called police right away."
25-year-old Tamara Henderson, according to police, was shot and killed inside her Oceanside Apartment in the 2300 block of Paseo De Laura; her 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter were inside the apartment at the time.
Police tell News 8 the person responsible for calling 911 for help is also the same person suspected in her death, her husband 28-year-old Dontaye Henderson.
"They told us that there is someone hiding in the hotel that has shot and killed somebody," explains Inez Gutierrez, a guest at the nearby Extended Stay America Hotel.
Police evacuated guests of the hotel and surrounded it with assault rifles and binoculars shortly after the 11:15a.m., keeping a close eye on the building they thought Henderson may have slipped into.
"I walked out of room and there are two cops down the hall with their pistols drawn," describes hotel guest Ken Ideiting.
In the end Henderson was not inside the hotel and now Police believe he could be with 24 year-old Consuelo Ramirez. It's also believed they could be driving in her green Toyota Corolla with California License plates 3-V-B-V-7-4-4.
Henderson is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who comes across him should call 911 or the Oceanside Police Dispatch on 760-435-4911.
