BOSTON -- A Dorchester man accused of strangling his wife was ordered held without bail Tuesday.
Roger Paron Jr., 51, is accused of killing Victoria Paron on Saturday in the home they shared on Bicknell Street.
Police began an investigation into Victoria Paron's well-being and Roger Paron’s whereabouts on Saturday afternoon. The next day, police found Roger Paron near the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Blue Hill Avenue.
When asked where his wife was, officials said Paron told police, "She's dead. I killed her."
Police said Roger Paron told them that she was inside their home. Police responded to the residence a short time later and found his wife's body.
"More than almost any other crime, domestic violence afflicts people of every age, ethnicity, income, and orientation," District Attorney Dan Conley said. "If you're in an abusive relationship, or if you know someone who is, we’re ready to help. No one should have to live in fear of an intimate partner."
Conley urged victims of any crime, including intimate partner violence, to call 911 in an emergency. SafeLink, a statewide domestic violence hot line, can be reached at 877-785-2020.
