Westmoreland, NY – A man shot his wife four times before turning the gun on himself following a domestic dispute at their Westmoreland home, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff Daniel G. Middaugh announced the finding Friday, a day after deputies found David A. Hoole, 41, and Lisa M. Guzzardo, 45, dead on the kitchen floor of their home at 6375 Route 26.
An autopsy Thursday determined that Guzzardo died from four gunshot wounds to her head and that Hoole died from one gunshot wound to his head. Both died sometime Wednesday morning, Middaugh said. The weapon used, a .22-caliber handgun, was recovered, he said.
The married couple had a history of domestic violence, Middaugh said.
Guzzardo’s supervisor at the Target store in New Hartford called Oneida County 911 Thursday morning after Guzzardo failed to report to work for three days, Middaugh said.
The investigation continues, Middaugh said.
