An argument in Wilmington early Tuesday turned violent when a woman stabbed and killed her husband, police said.
The couple began arguing shortly after 12:30 a.m. in a hotel room in the 800 block of Watson Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
As the argument escalated, Angelina Sevilla, 28, allegedly stabbed Luis Sevilla, 38, several times in the chest, police said. He left in his car and smashed into a light pole and a parked car several blocks away.
Paramedics found Sevilla and discovered the stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the LAPD.
Police said Angelina Sevilla was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of murder.
At least 36 homicides have been reported in Wilmington since January 2007, according to a database compiled by The Times' Homicide Report.
