Orleans Parish officials have identified the 37-year-old New Orleans man who killed his estranged wife, then apparently killed himself near the Florida housing development Sunday night.

Police found Lewis Williams and Kimberly Williams, 35, outside the house on the 2400 block of Independence Street around 6 p.m., Orleans Parish coroner's chief investigator John Gagliano said.
The man apparently shot the woman outside the residence, then shot himself, a New Orleans Police Department spokeswoman, Officer Shereese Harper, said in a news release.
A revolver was lying on the ground next to the man.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died, Harper said.
The incident was still under investigation on Sunday night, Harper said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111 or toll-free at 1.877.903.7867. Callers do not have to give their names or testify and can earn as much as $2,500 for tips that lead to an indictment.
