The Limestone County Sheriff's Department is investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide.
It happened early Sunday morning in the Tanner community.
Sheriff Mike Blakely says a man forced his way into a mobile home on Huntsville-Brownsferry Road shortly after 1 a.m. The suspect then fatally shot a man who was inside the house, then fled the scene.
As deputies were investigating the shooting, they were called to a wreck on nearby Snake Road where they found a man in a suburban with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to head.
The sheriff says the suicide victim in the SUV was acquainted with the homicide victim's ex-wife.
The names of the deceased have not been released.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
