CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Todd Pink is accused of especially heinous crimes. He's charged with fatally shooting Carrie Seils, his 35-year-old girlfriend, and stabbing to death her three-year-old son, Skyler. Police say it happened at Seils' Clinton Township home on May 15 following an argument the couple had at the Hoedown in downtown Detroit.
Pink is also accused of stabbed six-year-old Heavyn Seils and shooting James Pagano, a boarder at the Seils home. He testified Pink left the home for about half an hour and then returned.
"I went towards the front door. He kicked it in, pulled out a handgun from his waist and that's all that I remember from there," said Pagano. "I was shot in the side of the face."
"After you suffered that impact, you said that you passed out," Pagano was asked. He answered, "Yes, ma'am."
When Pagano came to he saw the carnage.
"(Saw) Ms. Seils on the ground. I (saw) Skyler at her feet, and I found Heavyn crying. So, I ended up taking Heavyn and walking out the door and taking her to the neighbors', and that's when they called the police," Pagano said.
Chad Seils, Skyler's father, was in court for the testimony. He repeatedly and unsuccessfully tried to get Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Tracey Yokich to place the children in his protection prior to the deadly violence.
Pink's sister testified he contacted her after the incident admitting his role in the horrible violence and bloodshed.
"He had just shot four people. It was hard to understand him. He was screaming and crying," said Lisa Pink-Klein.
The judge order Todd Pink to stand trial on two murder and 13 other felony charges.
