MOUNDSVILLE - A trial date has been set for a man charged with murdering his estranged girlfriend.

Todd E. Dolin, 40, of Glen Easton appeared Friday in Marshall County Circuit Court before Judge Mark A. Karl with his defense attorney, Robert McCoid. Dolin is charged with felony murder and wanton endangerment for the shooting death of Lua Zervos-Wolverton.

The 43-year-old woman, who worked as a U.S. postmaster, was working at the Dallas Post Office on Main Street on July 18, 2008, when Dolin allegedly entered the building with a 12-gauge shotgun and shot her at close range, according to court documents. Wolverton was able to tell a West Virginia State Police trooper, who was the first to arrive at the scene, that "her boyfriend Todd Dolin shot her."

She told the trooper the two had been having relationship problems, court documents state. State Police confiscated the shotgun, which had been left at the scene by the gunman.

Wolverton was flown by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, but died shortly afterward.

Dolin, who had fled the scene, was apprehended and arrested a short time later in Zanesville, Ohio.

On Friday, Karl set the trial to begin Oct. 25.

Dolin has remained in jail since his arrest following the shooting.
