WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBS) ―
Officials say an 84-year-old man shot and killed his 73-year-old wife before turning the gun on himself.
The couple lived in an upscale condo in the 800 block of North Kings Road, according to Deputy Guillermina Saldana of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
No motive was given for the murder. Detectives say the investigation is on-going.
The shootings were reported just after 7:45 Wednesday. Deputies were responding to a call of "a person screaming," when they found the woman suffering from a gun shot wound.
While checking the apartment, they came upon the male, who, apparently had a self-inflicted wound.
Both the man and the woman were taken to a hospital. She was declared dead almost on arrival. The man was in grave condition. He died Thursday.
The names of the couple were being withheld until notification of next of kin.
