PORT CLINTON
A woman who pleaded guilty to a fatal hit-and-run was sentenced to 18 months behind bars.
Ashley J. Baughman, 21, struck her ex-boyfriend, Edward Johnson Jr., with her car in September as she drove away from his Danbury Township apartnement after an argument. Johnson died and she fled the scene of the incident.
At her sentencing this morning, Baughman hid her face in her hands, cried and hugged her attorney. Family members of Johnson expressed frustration with what they considered a light sentencing.
