MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee County jury has found a man guilty of killing his ex-wife
Police said Gerhard Witte stabbed Elisabeth Witte in a downtown Milwaukee parking lot right after she sang with the Milwaukee Symphony chorus in May of 2008.
Witte represented himself and gave his own opening statement.
Witte was removed from the courtroom after a disruptive outburst.
"I got blood all over. I got blood on my hands, on my clothing, on my shoes. There's no doubt about the fact that my wife died at my hands," said Witte.
It only took the jury less than an hour Wednesday morning to come up with a verdict.
They also rejected his arguement that he was mentally ill when he committed the crime.
The couple's children are suing Witte for wrongful death.
