Bedford-Stuyvesant, NY: Cops: Man Killed Girlfriend, Then Self In Bed-Stuy
Police believe that a murder-suicide left two people dead in a Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment. The Daily News says that Wendy Gonzalez, 31, was apparently strangled by on-again, off-again boyfriend Eddie Rhodes, who hung himself with an electrical cord and slit his wrists. A neighbor said that Gonzalez was previously been abused by Rhodes and lived in a shelter for domestic abuse victims, "They moved here to get her away from him, but she took him back. He wasn't supposed to know where she lived [but] she took him back and it ended in her death. It's such a sad, sad case."
