A Sunrise man has been convicted of killing a woman and burning her body behind a Palm Beach County church.
A jury found 32-year-old John Liebro guilty Tuesday of second-degree murder and abuse of a dead human body. Authorities say Liebro beat and choked 24-year-old Katie Brunelle to death in December 2007. He then left her body in a burning car. Officials say the two were co-workers and had become romantically involved.
Liebro faces life in prison at his sentencing, which is scheduled for April 15.
