A man who killed his longtime girlfriend hours after he was served with an anti-harassment order pleaded guilty on Wednesday to second-degree murder.
Chan Kim, 70, was angry at Baerbel "Babs" Roznowski, 66, because he was being ordered to move out of their Federal Way home, police and prosecutors said. Police served the anti-harassment order less than three hours before the May 3, 2008, killing.
The guilty plea, in King County Superior Court Judge Joan DuBuque's court, was entered days before Kim was scheduled to be tried on the charge of first-degree murder, prosecutors said.
Last year, Federal Way police were sued by Roznowski's daughters. The daughters allege that the police officer who served the anti-harassment order should have made sure Kim was gone before leaving the scene.
