CEDAR CITY — A Cedar City man will stand trial in the shooting death of his wife.
Tristan Jared Lamoreaux, 24, was bound over for trial following a preliminary hearing Wednesday in 5th District Court.
Lamoreaux is charged with murder, a first-degree felony, in the slaying of Misty Lamoreaux. He is also charged with possession of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony, and failure to stop at the command of a law enforcement officer, a class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 23, Cedar City police responded to a call of shots fired in the Lamoreaux's apartment near the intersection of 400 North and 400 West. They found Misty Lamoreaux, 19, dead in the bathroom. An autopsy determined she had died as a result of multiple gunshots to the head.
Police said they arrested Jared Lamoreaux after he led officers on a brief foot chase when he was spotted leaving the apartment complex. He remains in the Purgatory Correctional Facility. His arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 21.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
