A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. Williamston, SC: Father shoots estranged wife and son, then himself
Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies say a father shot his wife and child before shooting himself inside a home on Foster Road in Williamston around 8:47 p.m. Wednesday night.
Early Thursday morning investigators told News 2 that 24-year old Brad Tinsley shot his estranged wife Ashley and 4-year-old son Zachary then turned the gun on himself.
Coroner Don McCown said it appears Brad died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. An autopsy is planned for Wednesday to determine an official cause of death. The mother and child were rushed to
Greenville Hospital System. They are expected to survive. The family has another child, a 6-year-old, but that child was not home at the time of the shooting, according to investigators.
Law officers have not said what prompted the shootings.
