NEWPORT, Pa. -- State police have arrested a Perry County man for allegedly killing his wife and then hiding her body on their property.
Pennsylvania State Police at Newport said Sherie Deardorf-Buck was reported missing on Friday, Oct. 2. They said her red Ford station wagon had been found in a shopping complex parking lot in Hampden Township, Cumberland County. Her show dog, a Rottweiler, was still inside the vehicle. Deardorf-Buck was nowhere to be found.
Police said their investigation led them to Deardorf-Buck's home at 1912 Honeysuckle Rd, Saville Twp, Perry County. During a search of the property on Wednesday morning, officials said they found Deardorf-Buck's body, partially covered by brush.
Police said they had searched the home previously, but not the yard -- which is about 30 acres.
Police have taken Deardorf-Buck's husband into custody. Police said charges of open criminal homicide are being lodged against Edward George Buck, 48.
The cause of Deardorf-Buck's death is pending an autopsy at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
