BRADENTON — Authorities say a Bradenton man died after his girlfriend stabbed him this morning in a domestic dispute, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.
Police say just after 1:30 a.m., the girlfriend of Derek Adams, 44, stabbed him during a domestic dispute in the Sheridan Apartments, in the 300 block of 26th Avenue West.
Bradenton police officers arrived at the apartment complex and found Adams laying on the ground outside the residence, the police report said. Adams’ girlfriend told police she stabbed him in the chest during a fight she had with Adams, and he staggered out of the apartment and collapsed.
The girlfriend, whose name has not been released, had injuries on her body and head and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The case is still under investigation and the results will be turned over to the state attorney’s office for review, according to the police report. No arrests have been made.
