Schaghticoke, NY: Police: Domestic dispute catalyst for murder-suicide VIDEO

SCHAGHTICOKE — A domestic dispute turned violent Sunday morning leading to the death of one man, and the suicide of another.

in the early morning, the estranged husband of 37-year-old Jammie Fisher approached 180 S. Hudson Ave., where Fisher was residing with her two children, aged 11 and 13, according to state police.

A domestic dispute ensued, followed by a call to emergency personnel and the departure of 24-year-old Chris Cammuso, of 411 Grand St., Jammie's boyfriend of several weeks. The husband, Joe Fisher, also 37, of 140 Slater Rd. and the father of both children, left the residence soon thereafter.

Joe returned sometime later and found Cammuso in the driveway of the residence. A verbal dispute and fight ensued, ending when Fisher gunned down Cammuso with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. Contrary to earlier reports, Jamie was unharmed.

The shooter then broke into 176 S. Hudson Ave., the home of Jammie Fisher's grandmother, where the family had taken shelter. Joe then threatened the family and proceeded to shoot himself fatally. The children witnessed some of the events, but police said it was unclear exactly what they may have seen.

When state police, the Rensselaer County Sheriff's and Mechanicville police responded to the call, they found both the victim and shooter dead. The investigation is ongoing.

Joe and Jammie Fisher had known each other for 16 years, and been a married for the past 13. Joe did not have a history of domestic violence however, state police out of Brunswick had been called or a domestic dispute at 180 S. Hudson Ave. earlier this month. According to the report, Joe had come to his wife's home and engaged in a verbal dispute. There is no documentation indicating the wife ever issued a restraining order against her husband.

Cammuso was a graduate of Stillwater High School and was working as a laborer at Bast Hatfield Construction Co. in Clifton Park.
