A Brooklyn man was arrested Sunday after he confessed to the stabbing death of his 51-year-old former girlfriend, police sources said.
Lawrence Wright, 55, killed Denise Pannell inside her apartment on Batchelder St. in the Sheepshead Bay Houses after an argument, the sources said.
Pannell was found dead Saturday morning after neighbors complained of a foul smell, cops said. Investigators believe she was dead inside her apartment for at least two days.
Wright, who lives in the same housing project, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
The pair had previously been in a relationship, police said.
The victim let Wright into her apartment and the two fought before he killed her, investigators believe. Wright admitted to the killing, according to the police sources.
