A man charged in the murder of his 25-year-old girlfriend has been indicted by a Laurel County Circuit Court Grand Jury, court documents indicate.

Sean Messer, 34, was indicted for murder and first-degree fleeing or evading police. He was also indicted for being a persistent felony offender, with the court document listing prior convictions for trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree bail jumping, theft by failure to make required disposition and first-degree wanton endangerment for an incident involving a police officer.

Messer was arrested early morning on Oct. 23 in connection with the stabbing death of Pamela S. Bobbitt. She was found by police inside her home at Plantation Apartments after 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22. She had suffered multiple stab wounds and was declared dead at Saint Joseph London hospital by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office.

Messer was arrested about three hours later when he tried to retrieve his car, which was under police surveillance. He was charged with murder.

Messer remains in the Laurel County Correctional Center and his bail is set at $250,000 cash.
