SPOKANE, Wash. —
The Spokane County sheriff's office says a 46-year-old man under guard in a hospital has been booked for investigation of murder in the stabbing death of his wife at their home in Mead.
The sheriff's office says Jeffrey N. Canino is being treated for self-inflicted knife wounds.
The couple's 11-year-old son was injured in the attack Wednesday.
The woman's name has not been released. The Spokesman-Review reports the home is owned by Jeffrey and Michelle Canino.
Sheriff's Sgt. Dave Reagan says deputies received a call shortly before daybreak in which a woman could be heard screaming for help.
