QUEENSBURY -- A man staying at a Queensbury trailer park was slain Tuesday by his girlfriend following an early morning argument, Warren County sheriff's officials said.

At a news conference Tuesday, Sheriff Bud York said James D. Euber, 43, died as a result of knife wounds inflicted by his romantic partner, Joanne M. Mattison, 48, during a domestic dispute.
The incident took place around 5 a.m. at Lot No. 2 in a trailer park at 78 Montray Road, Queensbury, just off Route 9 north of Quaker Road. Euber was pronounced dead at 5:50 a.m. at Glens Falls Hospital. Mattison also was injured, but was treated and released.

According to Warren County District Attorney Kathleen Hogan, the couple had been arguing and Euber was stabbed multiple times with a knife from the residence. Euber and Mattison were staying in the home of another couple who were in the residence at the time of the incident. Neither Hogan nor York would comment on the cause of the argument or any other specifics about the case.

Mattison was arraigned Tuesday in Queensbury Town Court and charged with second-degree murder, police said. State Police are assisting with the investigation.
