Authorities have determined that two people found shot to death near Studdards Crossroads in Fayette County on Thursday afternoon were killed in an apparent murder-suicide, said Barry Corkren, chief deputy of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responding to a domestic disturbance call on Fayette County Road 63 North, found Jennifer Ivie Nairemore, 35, and Jonathan Brent Nairemore, 39, dead in the road.
Corkren said the two were married and that although the incident is still under investigation, all evidence points to a murder-suicide. He would not say whether it was the husband or wife who killed the other before taking his or her own life.
The incident began as one of them walked along County Road 63.
Two other adults in a passing car offered the walker a ride, Corkren said. Shortly after, the other half of the married couple approached in another vehicle.
“The vehicles made contact and one vehicle left the roadway,” Corkren said. “The other two were not related to the victims and kind of found themselves in the situation.
“They were just trying to be Good Samaritans, really.”
Corkren would not reveal the names of the two people in the passing car but said they were uninjured and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The 24th Judicial Circuit Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force is assisting the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation.
I KNEW THE WIFE. SHE WAS MARRIED TO MY EX HUSBAND AND TRUST ME SHE DID NOT PULL THE TRIGGER.
