Midlothian Police Investigating Murder-Suicide
MIDLOTHIAN (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Midlothian police have confirmed that a murder-suicide happened in their city Wednesday night.
According to investigators, 29-year-old Guadelupe Galindo, of the East Texas town of Hawkins, walked into the home of his ex-wife's family in Midlothian and shot her to death in front of their children and other family members.
Galindo reportedly then turned the gun on himself. Both he and his ex-wife, identified as 30-year-old Sheili Galindo, died at the scene.
Shelli Galindo had separated from her husband earlier this year.
In April she reported she had received threatening telephone calls from him, and in May he was arrested for that offense while in Van Zandt County. He bonded out days later. The divorce became final in June.
Midlothian police say Shelli Galindo had taken all the precautions she could, asking for extra police protection and living with relatives.
Investigators tell CBS 11 News that Guadelupe Galindo had phoned Shelli's parents home earlier in the day Wednesday, but say the family apparently did not believe he was in town.
