WHITE PLAINS – Robert Sepe, Sr., the Croton-on-Hudson man who killed his live-in girlfriend last year and then drove to an overpass on Route 17 in Binghamton where he threatened to jump, was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years to life in prison. Sepe, 54, was convicted in May of second-degree murder for killing Janette Carlucci on March 22, 2008. Sepe’s two sons entered their father’s home to find blood spattered walls and floors on the first floor. They called police and state troopers found Carlucci’s badly beaten body. She had been killed with a baseball bat. Hours later on the same day, troopers took Sepe into custody when got him off the overpass on Route 17 after a five hour standoff. |
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
