HOUSTON -- A Houston murder suspect surrendered to police Saturday and confessed that he killed his girlfriend earlier in the week.
Activist Quanell X was with Aljero Collins when he turned himself in to HPD officers.
Investigators say Collins shot his girlfriend, 20-year-old Deanna Wilder, to death on Monday after an argument.
It happened inside the victim's aunt's home in the 5100 block of Lelia in East Houston. She had gone there to pick up her child.
That's when Collins showed up and shot Wilder several times, according to police.
Collins told 11 News he blacked out and doesn't know why he killed her.
Collins said he loved Wilder and feels terrible about what happened.
"It's like, the inside of me is totally messed up," Collins said. "I haven't ate since, probably four or five days."
Collins has been charged with murder.
