Attorney for family of Drew Peterson's murdered third wife to file wrongful death suit

April 20, 2009

The attorney representing the family of Drew Peterson's murdered third wife says he will file a wrongful death lawsuit against the former Bolingbrook cop today .

Martin Glink, who is representing the sister and father of third wife Kathleen Savio, said the lawsuit will allege Peterson and Savio engaged in confronatations during their contentious divorce. He said the lawsuit also will allege that Peterson twice gained entry to Savio's home without her consent or permission.

Savio was found dead in a dry bathtub in March 2004. State police found nothing suspicious about her death and it was ultimately ruled an accidental drowning. Savio's death was later reclassified as a homicide and state police were given another crack at figuring out who did her in.

No charges have been filed against Peterson.
